Well, where do we start? As first time parents you like to feel that you are the decision makers for your baby and your family. You rebel against common sense advice and expect that your baby will 'fall' happily into a routine when 'they' are ready. You also feel that a crying baby is an unhappy baby, and therefore you do everything to keep your latest addition to the family happy. We soon realized, after many sleepless nights, unnecessary bickering in the evenings, unsuccessful and stressful outings that we needed to do something about our situation.

We were blessed with such a happy little chappy and spent all our time with him, but when I returned to work and 'we' needed a routine for ourselves, it seemed as though that day would never come. We were hanging in there, like the baby books tell you to, until Ethan fell into his routine and started sleeping through the night. I breastfed till he was 9 months old and also thought this to be the reason for him not sleeping through. Who were we to deny him food and milk during the night if he was hungry or thirsty?

Baby Love was the best time and money investment we could have made. I was not convinced initially and it took us a month of debating before we decided to try it out. My husband and I made a promise to one another, that we would try the sleep training for a month and if it didn't work then we would look for the next best solution. Ethan took up to 3 weeks to fall into the routine properly and there were times when we came close to giving up, but we are so glad that we kept going with it because of the fantastic change it has brought to our lives! We implemented the Baby Love program when Ethan was 9 months old and committed to starting earlier with baby no 2.

We had time in the evenings for one another, could relax and cook supper together, watch TV, potter around the house and were even able to invite friends over! And we didn't have to worry about Ethan waking up and needing our attention. If and when he did wake up, he put himself back to sleep which we never thought possible before. We completed the 12 months - 2 year bolt on session with Jacqui and were confident to tackle any obstacles that came our way. It felt good to know that we are did the best for Ethan by ensuring he got a solid sleep every night and having a set (yet flexible) routine made life so much easier. We also really enjoyed our awake time together, it felt great not to be sleep deprived zombies that were going through the motions of being parents! Thank you Jacqui and Baby Love.
