Addison Fenner (6 months)

Addison Fenner (6 months)

Addison is our first baby and I remember one night after feeding her, I was walking around her room with her in my arms, waiting for her to fall fast asleep. I remember thinking to myself (and telling Ross), that we are doing the wrong thing here by walking / rocking her to sleep. She was 4 months old at the time, and as we did not know what else to do to get her to fall asleep, we just kept on doing it.

I had read a lot about putting your baby down in their cot drowsy but still awake, but there was NO WAY that would work with Addison, so I was hoping she would eventually sleep through the night and not need to be rocked etc to sleep. She was still waking once at night for a feed.

The day she turned 6 months old was a turning point in her sleeping, things just got worse and worse, she was waking every half hour or so at night! When she woke she would just cry and cry. She was miserable and not sleeping properly during the day, sometimes only sleeping a total of 1 hour the whole day!

Ross and I had become like zombies from the lack of sleep, so we started taking shifts at night, so we could each get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. This went on for 2 weeks.

I had heard about Baby Love from my boss. We knew we couldn't carry on the way things were going, so we decided to make an appointment to see Jacqui. And I'm so glad we did!

The first night we started the sleep training, Addison slept through! The first night!! We couldn't believe it! She cried for 16 minutes (I timed it, not easy to listen to your baby cry and not go and pick her up) and then she fell asleep. We woke her at 6am the next morning. Ross and I were amazed!

We started the routine (feeding and sleeping) the next day and haven't looked back. It works so well and just makes SO much sense!

I wish we had known about Baby Love sooner. Addison and her parents are just so much happier people now!
