Lyla Barnard (9 months)

Lyla Barnard (9 months)

Lyla is our second child, with a brother who is 18 months older. Our first parenting experience with him was rather exhausting. We had to rock him to sleep with every nap time. His sleeping patterns varied but we tried to still follow some routine. We were pretty lucky that he was a good sleeper, once we could get him to sleep. By 11 months he started to sleep through without any assistance, and still does.

Lyla followed and we were up the normal amount of hours, one is supposed to, for a newborn. However these routine waking times continued to be norm as she got older. At about 7 months she started to wake up even more during the night and at 8 months she was waking up about every 45 - 60 minutes. We tried giving her the dummy and even water, but she only settled once we gave her milk. It was killing us. Too much stress were being put on our family due to being sleep deprived, which is the worst thing ever experienced, and that is when we realized we had to get some help.

We found Baby Love on the internet and went to see Jacqui. I was so excited to start with the routine. Unfortunately Lyla fell ill, as we were about to implement the program, and were put on antibiotics. Although we had to postpone the sleep training part with a week, we did manage to get her onto the correct daytime routine in the first week.

The first night of sleep training was difficult. Since she was used to being rocked asleep she now had to fall asleep unassisted. She cried, and to our surprise she fell asleep, not too long thereafter. The first night she woke up 3 times, crying, and we just stick to what was discussed in the program. It worked all 3 times!

The second night went much better. There was some protesting going on, when we put her down, but she soon discovered how to self soothe and within a couple of minutes she was fast asleep. She cried twice during the night, followed by some moaning and groaning and then... silence. All of it could not have been more than five minutes.

By the third night we were feeling much better as mommy and daddy and the little one was getting much better sleep. We put her down to bed once again and ... NOT A Squeak! She fell asleep all by herself and didn't protest at all. When we woke up at 6am the next morning she slept right through without any difficulty. The greatest feeling ever!

We really got our sanity back - and we can enjoy each day without feeling sleep deprived. After we have done the sleep training, she fell ill and was teething too, but through all this she still slept through the night. Baby Love truly was our life saver as both our kids now sleep at least 12 hours per night!

Thank you Baby Love - we can with utmost joy in our hearts recommend this program to any parent.
