Mahdiya Alli (8 months)

My daughter Mahdiya was born five weeks premature on the 17 November 2012. Aside from being unprepared for her early arrival, I struggled with erratic feeding and sleeping habits from birth. Being my second child, I was completely taken aback by how different she was compared to my first born who was a text book baby.

When Mahdiya was 8 months old I finally decided that I could not cope with being tired and miserable all the time and sought the help of Fatima Osman and Baby Love.

I was obviously a little apprehensive about the crying involved in sleep training. But to my surprise the crying was minimal. She would fuss at first when I put her down into her cot because she wanted to be rocked to sleep but I was consistent in sitting on the side of her cot and placing my hand on her until she fell asleep. When she would awake at night I would do the same.

Mahdiya settled into the routine with so much ease and by Day 4 she was sleeping through the night and would no longer wake up for her bottle. I persevered for the full 21 days as recommended by the Baby Love programme and thereafter introduced flexibility into her routine.

Mahdiya is now 15 months old and is a well-rested, happy and content child.

Thank you to Fatima Osman for your help and your constant support.
